A plan to build a privately-run cemetery on green belt land has been refused, after more than 500 residents objected.Reigate and Banstead borough councillors rejected the scheme, which would have seen a chapel building, service building, car park and internal roads built on land off Croydon Lane, just outside Banstead Village.It provoked 589 objections, including those from Reigate MP Crispin Blunt, Campaign to Protect Rural England and four residents' associations.Many of the objections...
