Robert Fidler complies with order to demolish castle

The battle over the future of Robert Fidler's castle has finished.The Salfords farmer has been locked in a planning war with Reigate and Banstead Borough Council ever since he unveiled the mock Tudor mansion in 2006 from behind straw bales.In November last year, Mr Justice Dove handed Mr Fidler a three-month prison sentence for failing to comply with a court order to tear the property down.It was suspended, on the condition the building, on Honeycrock Farm off Axes Lane, was no longer standing...
